Special course
Bite function
You will learn more about various bite function problems and how to examine them manually/posturally.
You will gain greater insight into how inappropriate reflex mechanisms contribute to and perpetuate the problems.
About the course
Background
Various bite function issues are examined theoretically and functionally, giving you greater insight into how bite function and the body's postural system are functionally linked.
In all oral manual examinations during the course, the starting point is that there must be no pain or discomfort for the recipient in order not to trigger inappropriate reflex mechanisms. Particularly in cases of bite function problems, a hard manual approach may be contraindicated due to the risk of rapid development of jaw osteoarthritis.
Anne Louise Lindecrona Kiær has gained unique insight into bite function through decades of collaboration with one of Denmark's leading dental specialists in bite function. They have worked closely together on treating shared patients and have jointly taught courses for physiotherapists and dentists.
Goals
Gain greater knowledge of various bite function problems and how to examine them visually and manually.
Gaining an understanding of how much the patient can benefit from cooperation between the dentist and the practitioner in order to overcome reflex patterns.
