Special course

Stillness • CV4 • EV4

Fall 2027

About the Course

Background

If you find CV4 challenging, you are not alone. It takes time, perseverance, and patience to constantly deepen your relationship with it, both technically and philosophically. As with many other things, you are never really finished.

W.G. Sutherland himself spent more than a week reviewing the details of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics when teaching CV4. He then spent a week teaching the practical/technical aspects of CV4. That says something about its complexity.

During the course, we will review the underlying knowledge about how the handhold is performed—and, not least, why. We will slowly prepare the tissue in the initial exercises so that it is possible to perform a CV4 without causing significant treatment reactions in the recipient.

You will be supervised in getting your hands into the correct position and will be given guidelines that you can check yourself at home.

At the same time, the second equally important ingredient for the success of CV4 / EV4 is added and deepened.

Our own relationship with Stillness.

That is why this course is held as a small residential course in beautiful surroundings with nature all around us, so that we can more easily connect with the silence.

Goals

Understanding and being able to perform the hand grip itself in an effective and safe manner. Knowing the difference between Stillness and still points. Expanding your understanding of what you achieve physiologically in the body with a well-executed CV4 / EV4.

To help you create deeper contact with the underlying Stillness in your surroundings, yourself, and the patient.

This will give you greater experience of how it feels to work with your foundation in Stillness, regardless of where your hands are and what you are doing.

We act as a mirror for the person lying on the table.

The better you grasp your own Stillness, the deeper the recipient will go.
